Our Academics

Mathematics

We have designed our math block with inclusion of reteach and enrichment for our students. Our teachers monitor the progress of our students to make sure the concepts and skills are mastered. In 2016-2017, we shifted to Eureka Math for K-8, and in 2019, we changed the 6-12th math curriculum to Illustrative Math.

Science

We build science foundations in our K-8 classrooms, and in high school, we offer biology, chemistry, physics, robotics, forensics, and earth sciences.

Science education is paramount to society. Cultivating a scientifically literate citizenry has propelled our society through the ages. Social Studies

We have adopted the Michigan Citizenry Curriculum (MC3) across all grade levels. This helps our students learn to investigate questions through thinking and problem-solving strategies.

Fine Arts, Foreign Language, and Physical Education

NPFE offers courses in the fine arts, foreign languages, and physical education.

Our arts include Fine Arts and Performing Arts courses in music, band, orchestra, and art. NPFE offers Spanish and French classes, and offers International Baccalaureate Language (IB) classes in Spanish and French. In our physical education classes, students learn about health behaviors, influences, goal-setting, decision making, and advocacy. The curriculum is designed to address these areas of critical health issues in the hope that students will maintain a healthy lifestyle during the school year and beyond.
