Family & Community Partnerships
Family and community engagement in education is increasingly recognized as a vital contributor to student academic achievement. As a network, we see firsthand how well our students perform when their parents are highly engaged in their academics. Parental involvement is a critical ingredient for student success. - Yolanda Eddins, Director of Parent & Community Engagement
Community Partnership
NPFE schools are neighborhood beacons and often provide a sense of security for the families served. We develop strong community partnerships and align extended programming with the concerns and issues facing families today. NPFE’s partners including parents, civic personnel, and the business community collaboratively develop authentically engaging programs to create safe, stable environments for tomorrow’s work force.
Volunteers
Volunteers are a valuable part of our Family & Community Engagement Team. Our volunteers share the same NPFE values and believe all children deserve a quality education to prepare them for success in college and life. Our parents, grandparents, and NPFE friends understand the needs of the schools and know the staff at the schools counts on them. They go the extra mile, beyond the call of duty dedicating their time and resources. Volunteers' activities includes:
- Meet and greet parents and visitors
- Assist with front office duties
- Make phone callas and perform data entry
- Support school events and activities
- Prep and set up for meetings and community workshops
- Gather and distribute resources to parents
- Partner for community outreach
- Monitor lunchroom and hallways
